Reservation Policy 
The conference room MUST BE RESERVED in advance. To request a reservation and obtain a key, contact the Dean of Engineering office.

Quickstart
Tap the touchscreen to activate the system.
This will power up the computer, and plasma screen. The computer should be displayed on the plasma screen.
The wireless keyboard and mouse for the podium computer are stored inside the podium.
Select your desired presentation source using the touch screen, and adjust the audio level if your presentation source includes audio.
Note: If no picture is displayed, cycle through the sources by pressing the input button located on the lower right of the plasma screen.

Ending Your Session
Press the "Power" button on the upper left side of the touchscreen. This will power everything down.
Store the ELMO, keyboard, and mouse in the podium. Be sure to put the mouse back on its charging cradle.
Turn off the lights as you exit.
Return the keys to the Dean of Engineering office.

Using an External Laptop
Attach your laptop to the podium via the cables on top. Connectors for picture, sound, and network are provided. The top video connection is for the laptop. The bottom video connection is for the ELMO document camera.
Note: Laptop display settings should be set to 1024x768 with a maximum refresh rate of 75Hz. This can be done in the "Display" control panel, located by right-clicking on your desktop and choosing "Properties."
Macintosh laptop users: You will need to bring your own Macintosh video adapter if your laptop does not use the standard HD15 output.
You should connect your adapter to the laptop after it has booted, and then plug in the cable from the podium. If not done in this order, your video may not be displayed.

Using the Podium Computer
The computer is selected by default when the system is powered on. The computer can be manually selected by pressing the "Desktop Computer" button on the touchscreen.
The view of the computer screen can be expanded to fill the entire touchscreen by pressing the "Full" button at the upper right of the touchscreen panel.
WARNING: Any changes to the computer will be removed by the security software upon reboot. This includes files saved to the local hard drive.

Using the VCR/DVD Player
Switch to the VCR/DVD panel on the touchscreen by touching "VCR/DVD."
The VCR/DVD player is located in the base of the podium. You can use the VCR/DVD controls on the touchscreen or you can use the controls on the front of the unit.
The unit should already be powered on. Volume controls are located on the touchscreen.
Insert the VCR or DVD, then press play.

Using the ELMO
The ELMO is stored folded in the base of the podium.
Unfold the ELMO and connect it to the free video port under the laptop connections. Connect the power to the outlet on the podium.
Change to the Elmo on the touchscreen by choosing "Document Camera" from the touchscreen.
Additional controls are located on the touchscreen.

Podium Computer Features
The podium computer runs Microsoft Windows XP Professional.
The podium computer has Microsoft Office XP as well as many other common applications installed.
DVD-ROM drive, Zip750 drive, and a 1.44mb floppy drive
USB ports are available on the front of the machine.
WARNING: Security software on this computer will erase all changes made on the next reboot. This includes any files or data you may have created. These lost files are non-recoverable.

Network Connectivity
The podium computer is connected to the internet.
Network connectivity for laptops is available by using the network cable connected to the jack on the podium.
